  1. Fascinating read, and very well-done. I was, however, somewhat disappointed you didn’t include live theatre in your survey… Of Dice and Men, both the play (2010) and the film (2014) were ahead of the curve when it came to their portrayal of players. I know that when I first wrote it in 2006, it was the first thing I’d ever seen where *none* of the humor came from making fun of the pastime itself, or the players for participating in it.

    Qui Nguyen’s She Kills Monsters (2011) is also worth a look.
